Flat Basin Ground And Airport-Corridor Work

Natomas is flat, low and largely built in the last few decades, which makes it one of the easier parts of the region to work in and one of the wettest. North and South Natomas sit inside the levee system on reclaimed basin ground, and the practical consequence is that from November through March the limiting factor on a placement is often whether the ground will hold a truck rather than whether there is room for a unit. We use boards and gravel pads freely here and we plan an access route that does not need a dry week to work.

The construction work splits between the residential build-out that resumed once the levee improvements lifted the building moratorium, and the commercial and industrial development along the Truxel, Del Paso and airport corridors. The residential side runs like any tract job: construction restrooms on standing orders, units moved forward with the trades, counts driven by headcount rather than by lot count. The commercial side is bigger and more concentrated, and it usually wants portable sinks alongside the units because there is nothing plumbed within reach.

The airport corridor is its own category. Work on or adjacent to Sacramento International means badging, escorted access and delivery windows set by somebody else, and none of that is difficult if it is arranged in advance. What does not work is a same-day call. We would rather set up the access arrangement once at the start of a job and then run a predictable weekly route than negotiate entry every time a truck goes out.

Natomas has a lot of parkland, community fields and levee-top trail for a district its size, and that drives the event work — youth tournaments, community events, seasonal festivals, plus the maintenance and restoration jobs along the levees and the drainage canals. The bigger community events take a restroom trailer at the main gate and an accessible unit beside it, because these are public gatherings. Turf placements get spread loads and plywood; levee and canal placements get a second access route planned in, because the failure that matters out there is being unable to reach the unit on service day.

Summers are hot and exposed. There is very little mature shade anywhere in Natomas, so a unit here sits in full sun from June to September in a way that units in Carmichael or Davis simply do not. That is a service-frequency question. Weekly is the baseline; on any site with a real crew through the hot months we will recommend twice a week, and we would rather propose it than be called about it. Where the site has any shade at all, using it is worth more than an extra visit.

Most of Natomas is inside the City of Sacramento, with some of the northern edge in the county. Private property needs nothing; the right-of-way, the parks and the levee system each have their own permit path, and the levee districts are involved on anything on or near the crown. It is all routine — the only thing worth doing early is finding out which one your site sits under before you commit to a delivery date.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent a portable restroom?

Costs vary by unit type, rental duration, and delivery distance. Standard units typically start at $75–$300/day for short-term rentals, with weekly and monthly rates available. A construction site on a monthly rate works out at a fraction of the event-day price. Call 916-619-1714 for a free estimate on your site rather than a range.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Most companies require a minimum of one day for events and one month for construction sites, and we are the same. There is no contract beyond that and no notice period — when the job or the event is finished, you call and we collect.

Are delivery and pickup included in the price?

Delivery and pickup are typically included within the service area. Additional fees may apply for locations outside the standard range, and we tell you about those when we quote rather than adding them to the final invoice.

How often are the units cleaned and serviced?

For long-term rentals, units are serviced once per week — pumped, cleaned, restocked. More frequent servicing is available upon request, and through a Sacramento July and August we usually recommend it on any site with a real headcount.

What does servicing include?

Waste pump-out, interior cleaning and sanitizing, restocking toilet paper, and refilling hand sanitizer. We also check the door latch, the vent stack and, on a flushing unit, the foot pump — the parts that quietly fail between visits if nobody looks at them.

What happens if a unit gets damaged during my rental?

Renters are typically responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear. Ask about damage waiver options when you book; on a long construction rental it is usually worth having. Heavy ordinary use is not damage — we mean a unit that has been tipped over or vandalized.

Where should I place the portable restroom?

On a flat, level surface with clear access for delivery trucks. Keep units at least 25 feet from food service areas and within reasonable walking distance for guests. On a job site, place them through the work areas rather than all together at the gate.

How much space is needed for delivery?

A standard unit needs roughly a 4×4 ft footprint. Delivery trucks need at least 10 ft of clearance width and overhead access. A restroom trailer needs considerably more — a wide gate, a clear tow route and a turning area — which is why we check the route before confirming a date.

Can you deliver to any location?

We deliver to most locations including private property, construction sites, parks, and event venues. Some locations may require permits. We cover Sacramento County plus Placer, Yolo and northern San Joaquin — call and ask about yours, the answer is usually yes.

Do you offer ADA-compliant units?

Yes — ADA-accessible units are larger with ramps, grab bars, and extra interior space for wheelchair access. Many events and job sites are legally required to provide them. They also need a firm level surface and a step-free approach, which is the part that most often gets overlooked.

Are portable restrooms available for winter/cold weather events?

Yes. Units can be winterized with antifreeze solutions, and some luxury trailers include heating. On a January morning in the valley a heated trailer is a very different experience from a standard unit, and it is worth the difference if guests are involved.

Do you provide restrooms for construction sites?

Yes — OSHA requires 1 unit per 10 workers on job sites, serviced at least weekly. We set the count against your peak crew rather than your current one, place the units through the work areas, and move them forward as the trades move down the job.
