Folsom splits neatly into three kinds of work for us, and each one wants something different. South of Highway 50, Folsom Ranch is one of the largest master-planned build-outs in the region, and it behaves like a small city under construction: grading crews, then utilities, then vertical, all running at once across a few thousand acres. Sites there are big, the distances between trades are long, and one unit at the entrance serves nobody. We spread units through the work areas and move them as the job moves, which is a routing problem more than a rental one.
North of the highway is the established city, and there the jobs are remodels, additions, pool builds and commercial tenant improvements. Folsom sits on decomposed granite and rolling ground, which matters more than it sounds. A unit needs a flat, level footprint of roughly four feet by four, and a fair number of Folsom lots do not have one anywhere near where the crew is working. We carry leveling pads and we will build a base rather than leave a unit sitting at an angle, because a unit on a slope is the one that gets tipped over.
Historic Sutter Street is where our event work concentrates. Folsom Live, the rodeo, the car shows and the run of street closures through the summer all need capacity on a Saturday and none on a Monday. Downtown Folsom is also the hardest place in the city to put a truck, so those deliveries get planned around the closure schedule rather than dropped in whenever we are passing. For anything with paying guests we will usually recommend a restroom trailer over a bank of standard units, and for the bigger civic events a mix of the two plus a portable sink at the food end of the street.
The lake changes the summer. Folsom Lake and the Lake Natoma side pull real crowds from May through September, and the trailheads, staging areas and shoreline work sites all sit outside anywhere a permanent restroom would ever be built. Those placements come with two constraints: the access road, which is often gravel and narrow, and the fire season, which can close a route with no notice. We plan a second route into any unit we put out near the lake, because being unable to reach a unit on service day is the failure mode that matters out there.
Folsom has a serious wedding and event-venue business, from the barn and vineyard venues out east to the ranch properties along the river. Those bookings are almost always a wedding restroom job rather than a construction one: fewer units, much higher standard, and a delivery window that has to miss the setup crew and the photographer both. We deliver the day before as standard on those, so a problem has a day to get fixed rather than an hour.
On the paperwork side, Folsom is one of the more organized jurisdictions we work in. Private-property placements need nothing from the city; anything in the right-of-way or in a park needs a permit, and the historic district adds a design review layer that is worth allowing time for. How much does it cost to rent a portable restroom?

Is there a minimum rental period?
Most companies require a minimum of one day for events and one month for construction sites, and we are the same. There is no contract beyond that and no notice period — when the job or the event is finished, you call and we collect.
Are delivery and pickup included in the price?
Delivery and pickup are typically included within the service area. Additional fees may apply for locations outside the standard range, and we tell you about those when we quote rather than adding them to the final invoice.
How often are the units cleaned and serviced?
For long-term rentals, units are serviced once per week — pumped, cleaned, restocked. More frequent servicing is available upon request, and through a Sacramento July and August we usually recommend it on any site with a real headcount.
What does servicing include?
Waste pump-out, interior cleaning and sanitizing, restocking toilet paper, and refilling hand sanitizer. We also check the door latch, the vent stack and, on a flushing unit, the foot pump — the parts that quietly fail between visits if nobody looks at them.
What happens if a unit gets damaged during my rental?
Renters are typically responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear. Ask about damage waiver options when you book; on a long construction rental it is usually worth having. Heavy ordinary use is not damage — we mean a unit that has been tipped over or vandalized.
Where should I place the portable restroom?
On a flat, level surface with clear access for delivery trucks. Keep units at least 25 feet from food service areas and within reasonable walking distance for guests. On a job site, place them through the work areas rather than all together at the gate.
How much space is needed for delivery?
A standard unit needs roughly a 4×4 ft footprint. Delivery trucks need at least 10 ft of clearance width and overhead access. A restroom trailer needs considerably more — a wide gate, a clear tow route and a turning area — which is why we check the route before confirming a date.
Can you deliver to any location?
We deliver to most locations including private property, construction sites, parks, and event venues. Some locations may require permits. We cover Sacramento County plus Placer, Yolo and northern San Joaquin — call and ask about yours, the answer is usually yes.
Do you offer ADA-compliant units?
Yes — ADA-accessible units are larger with ramps, grab bars, and extra interior space for wheelchair access. Many events and job sites are legally required to provide them. They also need a firm level surface and a step-free approach, which is the part that most often gets overlooked.
Are portable restrooms available for winter/cold weather events?
Yes. Units can be winterized with antifreeze solutions, and some luxury trailers include heating. On a January morning in the valley a heated trailer is a very different experience from a standard unit, and it is worth the difference if guests are involved.
Do you provide restrooms for construction sites?
Yes — OSHA requires 1 unit per 10 workers on job sites, serviced at least weekly. We set the count against your peak crew rather than your current one, place the units through the work areas, and move them forward as the trades move down the job.
