Large Lots, Old Trees And Careful Placement

Carmichael is large lots, mature trees and a lot of money going into houses that were built decades ago. The work we do here is almost entirely residential and almost entirely on occupied property: whole-house remodels, kitchen and bath gut jobs, pool builds, detached garages and the steady stream of ADUs going up on back lots. The defining feature is that somebody is living there while it happens, which makes placement the most important decision in the whole rental.

On an occupied lot the right spot is rarely the obvious one. A unit at the curb is easy for us and unpleasant for the household and the street. A unit tucked behind a side gate or screened by the garage is better for everybody, and on a Carmichael lot there is usually room to do that — the lots here are big enough that a good placement exists if somebody looks for it. We will walk it with you rather than drop where the truck happens to stop. Where the household is sensitive about it, a small restroom trailer reads very differently from a standard unit and costs less than people expect for a short remodel.

The trees are a real constraint, not a nicety. Carmichael has a serious oak canopy, much of it protected, and a service truck needs clearance overhead as well as a route in. A placement that works in February can be unreachable in June once everything has leafed out. We look up as well as down when we site a unit, and if the only good pad is under a low canopy we will tell you before the first delivery rather than after the third missed service. A portable sink beside the unit is the other thing that keeps a household happy on a long remodel.

The American River Parkway forms the southern edge of the city, and the work along it — trail maintenance, restoration, Ancil Hoffman Park projects, the golf course — sits well away from any plumbing. Those placements are gravel-access and sometimes seasonal, and they get planned with a second route in. Carmichael Park and the community events there are the other side of that, along with a steady run of garden weddings on the big estate lawns: short, high-capacity bookings on turf, where we spread the load and put plywood down rather than leaving marks on the grass.

Almost all of our Carmichael work is unincorporated Sacramento County rather than a city, which changes the paperwork rather than the job. Private property needs nothing. Anything at the curb, in the right-of-way, or in a county park goes through the county, and the parkway has its own layer on top. It is all routine, but knowing which one applies before you plan a delivery date is worth the phone call.

Rentals here tend to run long. A full remodel is three to eight months, and over that kind of period the sensible arrangement is a monthly portable restroom rental on a weekly service route rather than a series of short bookings. The monthly rate is substantially better than the weekly equivalent, and it means the unit is somebody’s responsibility for the duration rather than something that has to be re-ordered every few weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent a portable restroom?

Costs vary by unit type, rental duration, and delivery distance. Standard units typically start at $75–$300/day for short-term rentals, with weekly and monthly rates available. A construction site on a monthly rate works out at a fraction of the event-day price. Call 916-619-1714 for a free estimate on your site rather than a range.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Most companies require a minimum of one day for events and one month for construction sites, and we are the same. There is no contract beyond that and no notice period — when the job or the event is finished, you call and we collect.

Are delivery and pickup included in the price?

Delivery and pickup are typically included within the service area. Additional fees may apply for locations outside the standard range, and we tell you about those when we quote rather than adding them to the final invoice.

How often are the units cleaned and serviced?

For long-term rentals, units are serviced once per week — pumped, cleaned, restocked. More frequent servicing is available upon request, and through a Sacramento July and August we usually recommend it on any site with a real headcount.

What does servicing include?

Waste pump-out, interior cleaning and sanitizing, restocking toilet paper, and refilling hand sanitizer. We also check the door latch, the vent stack and, on a flushing unit, the foot pump — the parts that quietly fail between visits if nobody looks at them.

What happens if a unit gets damaged during my rental?

Renters are typically responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear. Ask about damage waiver options when you book; on a long construction rental it is usually worth having. Heavy ordinary use is not damage — we mean a unit that has been tipped over or vandalized.

Where should I place the portable restroom?

On a flat, level surface with clear access for delivery trucks. Keep units at least 25 feet from food service areas and within reasonable walking distance for guests. On a job site, place them through the work areas rather than all together at the gate.

How much space is needed for delivery?

A standard unit needs roughly a 4×4 ft footprint. Delivery trucks need at least 10 ft of clearance width and overhead access. A restroom trailer needs considerably more — a wide gate, a clear tow route and a turning area — which is why we check the route before confirming a date.

Can you deliver to any location?

We deliver to most locations including private property, construction sites, parks, and event venues. Some locations may require permits. We cover Sacramento County plus Placer, Yolo and northern San Joaquin — call and ask about yours, the answer is usually yes.

Do you offer ADA-compliant units?

Yes — ADA-accessible units are larger with ramps, grab bars, and extra interior space for wheelchair access. Many events and job sites are legally required to provide them. They also need a firm level surface and a step-free approach, which is the part that most often gets overlooked.

Are portable restrooms available for winter/cold weather events?

Yes. Units can be winterized with antifreeze solutions, and some luxury trailers include heating. On a January morning in the valley a heated trailer is a very different experience from a standard unit, and it is worth the difference if guests are involved.

Do you provide restrooms for construction sites?

Yes — OSHA requires 1 unit per 10 workers on job sites, serviced at least weekly. We set the count against your peak crew rather than your current one, place the units through the work areas, and move them forward as the trades move down the job.
